The Vine and The Branch

"I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me." [John 15:1-4] To be a sturdy Christian means we must stay in the word of God which is able to enrich our knowledge and enlighten our path. In the book of John, Lord likened Himself as a vine while we are the branch. That leads us to a tantalizing question: What does the vine mean and what is the main role of the vine itself? Moreover, If we separate ourselves from the vine, what will happen? The Lord is the vine, as the bible said, means He is the source of everything we need. It includes our knowledge, strength, prosperity, and wisdom. Jesus taught clearly

Strain Towards What is Ahead

Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining towards what is ahead [Php 3:13] - NIV Paul, in the book of Philippians, wrote his effort in following Jesus. He said that after being captured and repented by God, Paul changed his frame of mind and strained every nerve to serve Jesus, though he must get rid of an earthly extravagance and a bad character. Paul is completely aware that to being a pure and valorous Christian, we must dispose the self-pampered character and habit beforehand, then begin following Jesus. Without throwing out those things, we will face a hardship and obstacle, or at worst, we may stumble continuously in serving Lord Jesus. The question is : what does bible say about the importance of disposing an earthly indulgence and a malicious character? what is the serious consequences if we fall away and reject the word of God after being saved by His salvation? In the book of Ep

Abram's Obedience

The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you [Gen 12:1] In the book of Genesis, The Lord said to Abram to leave his country and heading to a place that Abram had not known yet. Albeit The Lord did not give Abram a specific path in advanced, Abram still obeyed The Lord and traversed to that unknown place. Overall, in Abram's story, we have already known that through his obedience, he had received a marvelous blessing from God. The journey of Abram, however, is not as effortless as we thought. In fact, Abram had been through a lot: he had to move to the unrevealed place, he had to believe wholeheartedly to God that he would have an offspring named Issac though he was past age, and ultimately, he was ordered by God to sacrifice his beloved son as an offering. Those challenges that Abram had dealt with is definitely rough and difficult. It is truly understandable that as a sinful man, Abram

Fight Against The Evil One

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled round your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. [Eph 6: 14-17] As a Christian living in this world, we have a serious menace that comes from evil. Indeed, the evil one is not represented as a creatures in the underworld. That evil who has already existed since the beginning of this world is eager to insinuate ourselves continuously. The point is, he will not cease his deceptive act until we relinquish our faith in Jesus and no longer follow The Lord. That menace will be ongoing ceaselessly until we fall into his trap. Thus, it is truly important to scrutinize carefully about what the most powerful strategy to subdu

The Obedient Sheep

We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way [ Isaiah 53:6a] Bible describes us like a sheep that has gone astray due to we tend to take our own way. Moreover, in fact, we are eager to walk swiftly and rashly even though we are heading to the Death Valley.  Specifically, the vivid consequences of going astray is we will have no interest in learning bible, which means our frame of mind will not be formed and revised by the word of God. We will not be able to hear His admonishment at all. As a result, we are inclined to decide what we are going to do by our own thought. For example, when we are in a daze due to we are dealing with a lot of ordeals, what are we planing to? Will we seek some indulgences outside or take some times to pray to God? Are we more interested in babbling over our predicaments with friends or discussing it rigorously with our christian friends who know profoundly about bible and able to give a prudent advice? As Jesus s

DOING WHAT IS GOOD [Titus 3:1-11]

Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one,  to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone [Titus 3:2] It is well-acknowledged that every people, especially Christians should behave in a good ways. It is mandatory to show respect and to love each other. What is written in the book of Titus depicts the importance of doing the good things. As a believers in Christ, we have a responsibility to create a peace among our neighbor. Specifically, Paul wrote in a book of Titus that we should "  to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone" [Titus 3:2} . Furthermore, that order is similar, or even is in a part of the greatest commandment given by Jesus in Matthew 22:34-38 Jesus replied : “‘ Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. And the second is like it: ‘Love your
